Fingers crossed

One week out and everything is going well. Fingers crossed!

One watches on...

Here is a little preview of my drawing (not quite finished - ot oh). Been working on that eye section for quite a extended period of time....

As another canine watches, I feel slightly disloyal that is isn't him.

Delivery of invitations

Over the past few day our invitations have been sent in the post, hand delivered and stuck up around the place.

Only a week and a bit to go.

Books

I do love reading. Despite this, it's strange how nonchalant I have become about cutting into books. When going into book stores and libraries, I find myself not looking at books just to read anymore, but books that can dissected. They take on a sculptural form while sitting on the shelf and ask to be art.

But I still take in a deep breath and apologise to the book gods while making the first incision.

Friday meeting

A bit of a catch up and de-brief on a friday night.
Its been a busy week....so getting together, checking we are all on the same page and what needs to happen next...... was key.

Disaster Averted

After a mild disaster a couple of weeks ago with a leak in my studio after a night of thunderstorms, my drawings are back on track. Tried my best to repair it with overnight weighted blotting paper, which flattened it but was still stained.

Perhaps it was fate intervening. I rethought and restarted the drawing in question and think it turned out for the best anyway. Sometimes art does fall from the sky after all.

Oil paints out

Had the oil paints out last night to finish off a pair for the exhibition.
Starting to like them more now that they looking closer to finished.
Next decision.... gloss or matte varnish... hum.
